Monday, October 31st, marked yet another Halloween at the Woodlands, and as always, the various clubs of the school hosted their own themed events.
The Drama Club’s haunted house, hosted in the dance studio, was the school’s obvious first choice. Long lines were seen stretching down the hall on all three of their open days, and for just $2 a person, visitors were able to immerse themselves in a delightfully scary and atmospheric experience. It was genuinely fun, and we sincerely hope that it will return next year.
The Art Club also hosted their week-long costume contest; they called, and the school certainly answered. Students showed up in droves wearing creative costumes, including tenth-grade student Ailen Meng, who allegedly crowdsourced over $160 to cosplay as a certain character from Genshin Impact. Student Activity Council Public Relations Executive Amy Feng, and Secretary Noah Ma joined in on the fun as well, wearing a Mad Hatter and a prisoner costume, respectively.
And last but not least, SAC’s Pumpkins and Polaroids event was held in the cafeteria, where students from all grades were seen relieving their midterm-induced stresses in the only way they knew how - by gleefully eviscerating pumpkins. Though perhaps not as popular as the haunted house, this event does take the cake for the most violent. Pumpkin designs ranged from classic faces to famous characters such as Snoopy and Superman, all allowing students to stretch their creative and forearm muscles!
We at The Woodstock look forward to seeing what events await us next spooky season. Until then!
